Manpower is among one of the most important key factors driven in business (Harvard Business Review, 2022). However, as the countries with advanced economies, Japan and South Korea suffered from declining productivity rate due to the declining birth rates and aging populations (Institute of Labor Economics, 2019), and thus, the demographic issue becomes their biggest obstacle to improve their business performance.
Indonesia manpower has contributed for more than 30 years as the 8th largest supply of foreign manpower in Japan’s industrial workforce (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, 2018). This means that Indonesian manpower is not only suitable for Japanese industry, but can also blend with the Japanese society, so there is still a lot of room for Indonesian workforce to further contribute to increasing the industrial productivity in Japan.
